News Bulletin
Runcorn Local Policing Unit, Halton Castle

APRIL 2020
Local Crime
During April, we have had a lot less reports of youths involved in ASB. This will be due to the Lockdown put in place by the government. It is good to see that the advice is being upheld.
There are still reports coming in of Off Road bikes causing a nuisance in the area. Reports are now the canal paths as well as the bus way. We are still appealing to residents to contact us in confidence either via the social media private messaging channels, via 101 or at our LPU email address RUNCORN.LPU@CHESHIRE.PNN.POLICE.UK if they have any information about nuisance motorbikes are stored or who is riding them.
Roads Policing
Due to the government lockdown there has been a big decrease in vehicle’s using the road networks. However, some motorists are using this as an excuse to exceed the speed limit. Speed monitoring was carried out on the area and I’m pleased to say almost all were abiding by the limit. If there are any roads that you think require our attention with the camera please get in touch and let me know by social media or email.
Community Information
It has been nice when out on the area that people are sticking to the government legislation that was put in place due to the Coronavirus. It also has been nice to have such a good reception when I have been bumping into people. It really shows that during these tough times we can all come together.
We are keen over the coming months to try to advertise the introduction of Neighbourhood Watch schemes in Halton Castle via the Cheshire Alert web page. If any members of Cheshire Alert would like to set-up and become a coordinator of a watch scheme then we as the police will offer support and advice in any way we can.  My e-mail is attached at the bottom of this newsletter and I look forward to hearing from anyone who wishes to set-up a scheme that we can get involved with.

As I cannot hold my surgeries at the community centre as normal I will be holding VIRTUAL surgeries using social media. This will be advertised using the Halton Castle Facebook and Twitter pages.
