Alert message sent 16/03/2020 11:35:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good Morning ,
I am sending this Alert due to an increase in reports of vehicles being broken into .

Please when we are leaving our vehicles unattended can we follow the below advice-

*LOCK IT ! even if we are leaving the vehicle for a few minutes ensure the vehicle is locked ans secure.
* CLOSE IT ! Ensure also windows and sunroofs are closed fully - this prevents any thieves from attempting to 'FISH' by using wire, bent hangers etc to access the vehicle.
* SECURE IT ! Use security screws to secure your number plate to the vehicle as this makes it harder for thieves.
FIT IT ! Use locking wheel nuts to reduce the risk of your vehicle being stolen.
TAKE IT/HIDE IT ! Any items left in view from outside make it irresistible to thieves. Remove them or hide them inside the vehicle.
* TOOLS ! if you are unable to remove all tools from the vehicle then please make sure that they are all marked with your name, contact details.
Also make sure you have a list at home/company with the serial numbers ,makes/models this helps the police return property back to the rightful owners.
*DOCUMENTS !- Make sure all ownership/vehicle documents are NOT left in the vehicle and are safely stored at home.
* PARK IT! Park in a well lit busy area , It can take only 30 seconds for someone to break in.

Importantly if you see anyone acting suspiciously  REPORT IT !

If you require anymore advice, support or information then please contact myself via Cheshire Alert.

Kind regards
