Burglaries Warrington South

Alert message sent 09/03/2020 16:10:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good evening,

Recently there has been break-ins to properties in the south warrington area, where the properties have recently been left unoccupied for a period of time have been targetted. Or when the property has appeared to be vacant. The rear of the property has then been targetted and doors have either been smashed or forced.

To prevent your property becoming a target we advise the below:

> Make sure if a you have an alarm, ensure it is activated if you are going away, or the property will be vacant for long periods.
> Consider installing security lights with movement sensors/ CCTV systems, either are a good investment!
> Inform you neighbour/ family/friends you are going away and ask them to check the property from time to time.
> Timers for lights inside the property/ TV simulators which emit lights that give the impression a TV is on (some even emit sound!)

All of the above are good deterrents, as is ensuring your property is properly secure regardless of when you are in or not.
